Professional: Individuals
who meet one or more of the following qualifications. Individuals
engaged in Human Resource Management with at least three
years of experience at the exempt level. This should
include at least one of the following areas:
1) Employment/Recruitment
2) Wage and Salary Administration
3) Benefits Administration
4) Training and Development
5) Employee Relations
6) Affirmative Action
7) Labor Relations
Other criterion may be any individual
certified by the Human Resource Certification Institute;
a faculty member with three or more years experience; or
full-time HR consultant. Professional members have voting
rights and may hold office in the Shenandoah Valley SHRM.
General: Individuals
engaged in Human Resource Management at the exempt
level, but do not meet the requirements for Professional
membership. General members have voting rights, but
may not hold office in the Shenandoah Valley SHRM.
Associate: Individuals in non-exempt Human
Resource Management positions, as well as those who do not meet any of
the foregoing categories, but have a bona-fide interest in Human Resource
Management. Associate members do not have voting rights and may not hold
office in the Shenandoah Valley SHRM.
