Labor Management and Unions

Lou Pugliese

For employers. Business advocates are questioning the National Labor Relations Board’s (NLRB) current policy direction. This presentation deals with why employees may consider joining unions and how a company can position itself to avoid such scenarios. Barring success in union avoidance, the talk covers how to research union locals and communication pitfalls to avoid in union discussions.”

This includes union history, how unions form in a workplace, and current expectations on NLRB direction. It is not intended to be anti-union necessarily but rather informational to be used as the audience chooses.

LOU PUGLIESE

*We’ll be using the cafeteria for lunch. It’s gotten very good reviews for quality and selection from previous meetings and it really does have great choices for any diet. That facility opens at 11 and we’d encourage folks that can to arrive early for the meeting so we can make sure everyone has had a chance to enjoy their lunch prior to noon. Our shuttles will be ready to go starting at 10:30 as will our registration to support any early arrivals.
